Several developed countries are facing opposition to immigration. While this situation is true for many countries, it is not for Canada. Presently, Canada is experiencing great political support in welcoming newcomers from all walks of life into the country.

According to Canadian Visa Professionals, the three major political parties in Canada are so much in support of the immigration policy into Canada that they are willing to stop the bureaucratic obstacles slowing immigration. With this great support, it is no wonder there has been a record number of immigrants entering Canada in the past two years.

Plans for More Immigrants in Canada

A few months ago, the Canadian Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, reported at a press conference about Canada’s plan to exceed its immigration goal for 2022. The goal is to provide permanent residency to over 430,000 people this year. With the execution of this goal, the admission of 401,000 immigrants in 2021 will be exceeded substantially.

Canada’s rate of admitting immigrants is now higher than that of the United States, which is nine times the population of Canada. In 2021, the United States admitted just 245,000 immigrants, which is lower than the previous year with 477,000 newcomers.

This is the perfect time to take the first step toward the dream of relocating to Canada, according to Canadian Visa Professionals.

Reduction in Opposition Against Immigration to Canada

From a survey, the percentage of Canadians with the idea that immigration levels are too high has reduced from 49% to 39% since 2018. Thus, Canada’s opposition to immigration is reducing with increasing immigration into the country.
